About
Greetings! I'm Andreas Alexander, and you could say I'm a creative at heart, deeply inspired by the world of art and visuals, and the magic that happens when the two collide.
During my college days, I was looking for ways to express my creativity. While delving into web design, I found myself captivated by the art of filmmaking. Because this form seemed to embody the essence of creativity, I decided to see if I could pursue that.
But diving into such a craft is no small feat. As a first step into filmmaking I decided to do a minor in photography, and get my first digital camera: a Canon EOS 350D (or EOS Digital Rebel XT). Eventually I developed a style that made my photos look like stills from movies, with a widescreen anamorphic look that resonated with my artistic preferences.
After one year of university, where I studied film art and history, my life and career in fact did not move in the direction of filmmaking or photography. Instead I started working as a designer, animator and and eventually found my path as a web developer.
Eventually my itch for creative expression returned and in 2022 I decided to get a camera again. At that time I hadn't do a lot of research into current-day cameras and their capabilities, so a brand new world opened for me. To my delight, I discovered that my new camera, the Fujifilm X-T4, boasted impressive video capabilities, turning it into a genuine filmmaking tool and adding an exciting dimension to my creative pursuits.
What also became evident is that there are actual consumer anamorphic lenses available and I decided to invest in them and use them to enhance my filmmaking skills. After lots of experimenting with video, I decided that it would be in my best interest to go back to square one and learn photography from A to Z. So that's where find myself now, immersed in the process of mastering the intricacies of photography.
